UGC online Degrees regulation

The University Grants Commission (UGC) is India's top administrative agency responsible for overseeing and coordinating higher education. In recent years, the UGC has taken a proactive approach to promoting online and distance learning courses. In 2017, the UGC published a set of regulations tailored to recognised online degree programmes.

Online degrees must be offered by universities that have been approved by the National Assessment and Accreditation Board, according to UGC requirements.

Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a minimum grade of "B." The Academic Council of the university must additionally approve the programme. Furthermore, the UGC mandates that all online university degrees be supported by adequate infrastructure, which includes hardware, software, and instructional design resources.
