Sikkim Manipal University  is India's oldest Private University. It was declared in 1995. Sikkim Manipal Institution is a private institution in the Indian state of Sikkim.

Sikkim Manipal University, founded in 1995, is the region's first government-private enterprise, providing superior education to students from the country's north and north-eastern regions. SMU is accredited by the Government of India and recognised by the University Grants Commission. 

It is the country's first Public Private Partnership (PPP) for higher education and healthcare services. Sikkim Manipal University

Sikkim Manipal University was founded in Gangtok, Sikkim, in 1995. The University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) both recognise Sikkim Manipal University. 16 undergraduates, 18 graduates, a diploma in medical biotechnology, and doctorate programmes are all available at Sikkim Manipal University (SMU). 

These courses have been split across the two campuses of Sikkim Manipal University: the Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT) and the Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences (SMIMS). Admissions to courses at Sikkim Manipal University are determined by merit and entrance tests.

According to the NIRF assessment for 2022, Sikkim Manipal University is among the top 150 universities in India. According to the Outlook for 2022 lists, Sikkim Manipal University is rated third among technical universities. According to Outlook for the year 2022, Sikkim Manipal University is ranked seventh among medical universities. The Medical Council of India (MCI) and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) have both approved Sikkim Manipal University. 

Eligibility Criteria

B-Tech - The minimum requirement for admission to different B.Tech. programmes at Sikkim Manipal University is 10+2/equivalent with 45% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or 10+2/equivalent with 45% in Physics and Mathematics. 

B-SC - For a variety of SMU Bsc programmes, you must have completed 10+2 or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 50% in the relevant subject. The amount of additional eligibility varies according to the course specialisation. Furthermore, the cost is INR 60000 for the three-year course.
