Three hundred years ago, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Master, sojourned at Talwandi Sabo. During this time, he completed the compilation of Guru Granth Sahib Ji and foresaw that this place would evolve into Guru Ki Kashi, a significant center for education and learning, where esteemed scholars of Sikhism would emerge. Approximately two centuries later, the establishment of Gurumat Vidalaya by Sant Atar Singh Ji Maharaj marked the initial stride in this promising journey. Around a century thereafter, the inception of Akal University, Talwandi Sabo, under the guidance of Baba Iqbal Singh Ji Baru Sahib Wale, fulfilled the prophecy made by the tenth Guru three centuries ago.
The University has now embarked on its sixth academic session this year. Its mission and vision extend beyond the mere imparting of literacy; it is dedicated to providing high-quality, spiritually infused education. This education aims to foster the holistic development of individuals who will carry forward the message of universal brotherhood and the philosophy of interfaith wisdom, as enshrined in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
