Arni University (AU) was established through Government of Himachal Pradesh Act No. 23 of 2009 and received approval from the UGC under Notification No. F No 8-5/2010(CPP-1/PU), dated March 3, 2010. It was granted recognition under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. The primary aim of the university is to foster interdisciplinary higher education and research in regions of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir where such opportunities are needed.
Located in Kathgarh, Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, the university is situated approximately 6 kilometers from National Highway No. 1A, a four-lane highway, and approximately 25 kilometers from Pathankot City. The campus of Arni University is renowned for its picturesque setting, nestled amidst lush green surroundings, free from pollution, with a scenic view of the Beas River and the Dhauladhar Mountain Ranges in the foothills.
