Assam Down Town University, situated in Panikhaiti, Guwahati, the capital of Assam, India, came into existence under the Assam Down Town University Act of 2010. The university boasts a sprawling 42-acre campus that offers picturesque views of the Brahmaputra River. Nestled just 12 km away from the Assam State Secretariat in Dispur, this campus serves as the educational hub of the state of Assam.
From its modest inception, the university has expanded its academic repertoire to encompass a diverse range of over 60 courses. Today, it proudly hosts a thriving community of over 8,000 students hailing from 10 different Indian states, as well as students from Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Nigeria.
The visionary force behind the establishment of this institution is the Down Town Charity Trust, under the patronage of Down Town Hospital Limited. With a legacy dating back to 1993, the group has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to education and training.
