The inception of Charotar University of Science and Technology (CHARUSAT) is the brainchild of Shri Charotar Moti Sattavis Patidar Kelavani Mandal, with the vision of elevating India's standing in global education by establishing Charotar, also known as the Land of Sardar Patel, as a prominent Global Education Hub.
Established in 1994, Kelavani Mandal is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing social service through education, boasting a rich history of over 125 years. The parent organization, Shri Charotar Moti Sattavis Leuva Patidar Samaj – Matrusanstha, is renowned for its groundbreaking social initiatives, including the mass marriages that catalyzed a significant social transformation within the Patidar community.
Kelavani Mandal was founded with a clear mission: to create cutting-edge educational infrastructure. This trust is known for its democratic and transparent management, upholding the highest standards of integrity in its operations.
Kelavani Mandal serves as the patron body behind CHARUSAT. The trajectory of Kelavani Mandal's growth was guided by the leadership of two former Presidents, Late Shri Chhotabhai Bhikhabhai Patel and Late Dr. K C Patel. Late Shri Chhotabhai Bhikhabhai Patel, a distinguished businessperson and influential social leader based in Mumbai, ardently advocated for setting global benchmarks. Late Dr. K C Patel, a renowned nuclear scientist and a prominent figure in Gujarat's education landscape, succeeded Shri Chhotabhai Bhikhabhai Patel and envisioned the establishment of a university at the Education Campus in Changa (ECC).
