Jaypee University of Engineering & Technology (JUET), Guna, was established through a Government of Madhya Pradesh gazette extraordinary (No.3 of 2010) dated 29th April 2010 as a private university in the State of Madhya Pradesh, operating under the provisions of the MP Niji Vishwavidyalaya Adhiniyam 2007. The university holds recognition from the UGC under section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956, and has achieved accreditation from NAAC, earning a Grade "A+" in its 2nd Cycle in 2023 and a Grade "A" during its 1st cycle of Accreditation in 2016. Jaypee University of Engineering & Technology is proudly sponsored by the Jaypee Group.

Initially established as Jaypee Institute of Engineering and Technology, Guna, in 2003, it was the result of an MOU signed between Jaiprakash Sewa Sansthan, a not-for-profit trust, and the Government of Madhya Pradesh. The primary objective was to create a Center of Excellence in Engineering and Technology in the state.

Jaypee University of Engineering & Technology is one of four universities established by Jaiprakash Sewa Sansthan (JSS), an educational initiative that recognizes the transformative role of IT and emerging technologies in enhancing the quality of life for the people of India. JUET's strategic location in Raghogarh, Guna district, was carefully chosen to serve the underdeveloped districts of Madhya Pradesh, including Shivpuri, Gwalior, Sheopur, Ashoknagar, Sagar, Rajgarh, Vidisha, and others. This region, currently characterized by a rural landscape and vibrant agricultural activities, is poised to evolve into a major industrial hub. JUET is dedicated to nurturing the growth of this region by providing a skilled and well-trained technical workforce to meet its evolving needs.
