JIS Group Educational Initiatives, the largest educational conglomerate in Eastern India boasting 37 institutions, 170 programs, and a student body of 39,000, embarked on its journey 24 years ago. Despite the challenges, this journey has been notably successful. JIS University came into existence through the legislative act of the Government of West Bengal, known as the JIS University Act, 2014 (West Bengal Act XXII of 2014), and officially commenced operations in February 2015.
The university's overarching mission is to stand among the elite institutions in India and be the preferred choice for students, research scholars, and faculty members alike.
