Maharaja Agrasen Himalayan Garhwal University (MAHGU) was founded and incorporated under the Government of Uttarakhand Act No. 33 of 2016. This establishment is duly recognized by Notification no. XXXVI (3)/2016/48(1)/2016 of the Uttarakhand Shashan (Vidhayee & Sansdiya Karyavibhag), and it operates under the provisions of Section 2(f) of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956.
