Established in 2011 by an act of the State Legislature, Mahatma Gandhi University of Medical Sciences and Technology, Jaipur, stands as Rajasthan's pioneering Private Medical University. The university has received recognition from the University Grants Commission (UGC) and operates under the aegis of the India Education Trust. This trust, established in 1999 by the distinguished Gynaecologist and IVF Specialist, Dr. M.L. Swarankar, serves as the sponsoring body for the university. The formal inauguration of Mahatma Gandhi Hospital (MGH) took place on October 2nd, 2000.
