Mewar University is an independent institution established by the Government of Rajasthan through Act No. 4 of 2009, as sanctioned by the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly (Government of Rajasthan). The University holds recognition from the UGC under section 2(f) of the UGC Act, granting it the authority to confer degrees under section 22(1) of the UGC Act, 1956, as confirmed in their letter no. F.9-15/2009(CPP-I) dated March 30, 2009. Notably, it is the sole private and self-financed university in Rajasthan approved by the UGC under section 12B of the UGC Act, as endorsed in their letter No. F.9-15/2009 (CPP-I/PU) dated October 15, 2018. Mewar University is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and holds accreditation from NAAC. Furthermore, the University is duly approved by AICTE, PCI, BCI, IAP, NCC, NSS, and NCTE for its various courses.
It's important to note that Mewar University has not entered into affiliations with any other institutions, nor has it established study centers anywhere in the country apart from its principal campus located in Gangrar, Chittorgarh, Rajasthan.
