The North East Frontier Technical University (NEFTU) is nestled in the charming town of Aalo, an emerging center of education and the administrative hub of West Siang, a verdant and mountainous district within Arunachal Pradesh. NEFTU represents a dedicated initiative led by a group of forward-thinking visionaries and educators. This institution stands as a State Private University, operating under the provisions of section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956, and is fully equipped to provide students with top-tier education and advanced academic programs that meet both national and international standards.
NEFTU came into existence through the enactment of Act 11 of 2014 by the State Legislature of Arunachal Pradesh, marking it as the first Private Technical University in the state. Arunachal Pradesh, the largest state in terms of land area in the North-Eastern region, is often regarded as a natural treasure trove, boasting a rich biodiversity and serving as the habitat for over six hundred species of orchids and other exquisite flora. These vibrant species thrive in diverse altitudes and climatic conditions across the entire state. Additionally, His Excellency the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh serves as the University's Visitor, gracing the campus whenever his schedule permits.
NEFTU is proudly sponsored by the Automobile Society of India, a registered charitable trust with a successful track record of managing institutions specializing in Automobile Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
Notably, NEFTU has secured the necessary No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and garnered approvals from various esteemed educational bodies, including the Bar Council of India (BCI), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), and National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Furthermore, the university offers programs in Agricultural Research (ICAR) and boasts a diverse range of courses encompassing Engineering and Technology, Arts and Humanities, Law, Education, and Pharmacy.
