Sabarmati University, located near Vishno Devi Circle in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, is the first state private dual-mode university in the state. Its primary mission is to foster skills and promote interdisciplinary education. Sabarmati University earned its prestigious status as a state private university in 2009 through the Gujarat State Legislature Act No. 8. Subsequently, in 2019, it underwent further amendments through Act No. 20.
In accordance with Section 22 of the UGC Act, Sabarmati University possesses the authority to offer, recognize, and confer degrees to students who have pursued their studies at its main campus through regular mode. The university enjoys recognition and approval from several esteemed bodies, including the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Government of Gujarat Gazette, the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), and the Bar Council of India (BCI), starting from the year 2009. It operates under the distinguished guidance of its Board of Management (BOM), various Governing Bodies, and Committees.
