In a mere span of five decades, the educational complex has burgeoned into an expansive institution comprising 34 establishments, each dedicated to a diverse array of educational disciplines such as Humanities, Engineering, Education, Medicine, Management, Pure Sciences, and Mass Communication. The complex now boasts a vibrant 50-acre campus, where more than 39,000 students are nurtured by a dedicated team of over 3,000 faculties and staff.
The foundation of the Somaiya Vidyavihar Complex dates back to 1959, a visionary endeavor initiated by the late Shri K.J. Somaiya (1902-1999). With his astute business acumen, a balanced outlook, and a strong commitment to social welfare, Karamshibhai established the Somaiya Trust in 1953. This marked the beginning of his dream to mold young minds through the provision of high-quality education. To fulfill this vision, he acquired a significant expanse of land in Ghatkopar, which, at the time, was considered remote and sparsely populated.
