Swami Vivekanand University was established under the Madhya Pradesh State Legislature through the enactment known as The Madhya Pradesh Niji Vishwavidyalaya (Staphana Avam Sanchalan) Tritiya Sansodhan Adhiniyam (Act No.44 of 2011), officially published in the State's Gazette on December 31, 2011. This establishment was realized with the approval of His Excellency, the Governor of Madhya Pradesh, who serves as the University's Visitor.

Sri Vivekanand Niji University (SVN) is administered by the Prakhar Pragya Shiksha Prasar Avam Samaj Kalyan Samiti, located in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, India. Situated amidst a serene and pollution-free environment, SVN University's sprawling campus encompasses 65 acres of lush greenery. It is strategically located at a distance of 8 km from Sagar City on the Jhansi-Lakhanadon highway (NH26) and 12 km from the Dhana air strip.

The primary mission of SVN University, in collaboration with its constituent colleges, is to shape the aspirations of young minds into accomplished professionals, including technocrats, bureaucrats, academics, and intellectuals who will contribute significantly to our nation. To achieve this noble objective, SVN University's management has meticulously designed a campus that provides an excellent teaching and learning environment, tailored to suit the weather and climatic conditions of Madhya Pradesh.
