The Global Open University, Nagaland, a state university established by the Government of Nagaland, was formally enacted by the Nagaland State Legislative Assembly through The Global Open University Act 2006 (Act 3 of 2006). This legislation received the Governor of Nagaland's assent on August 30, 2006, and was officially published under Notification number Law/Act-10/2006 on September 18, 2006. The provisions of The Global Open University Act 2006 were made accessible to the public through their publication in the Nagaland Official Gazette on September 18, 2006.
